I'm very excited to announce that I am now offering online songwriting & guitar lessons, via Skype. What this means is, you can learn how to write a song, improve one or more of your own existing songs, learn to play guitar, or all three of these things, from the comfort of your own home, no matter where you are in the world! Ah yes, the internet is a marvellous thing! The thing I love about it the most is the fact that it brings people together, it brings the WORLD together and that is truly wonderful (despite all the buzz about our privacy being infringed upon by the powers that be). I must mention that my online lessons don't stop there, if you are someone who just wants to learn how to play a few of your favourite songs around the campfire or at parties and get togethers with friends and family, you can learn how to do that too! Whether you already know how to play the guitar a little bit or not. Which leads me to my next paragraph...
The only thing that I cannot do though, is make you a good singer, unfortunately the voice is a unique instrument in itself, basically, you can either carry a tune or you can't, now it's not exactly as black and white as that, there are some grey areas when it really comes down to it. You may be able to somewhat carry a tune (i.e.;you are not totally tone deaf!) and with lots and lots of practice, there is a good chance that you could become a pretty strong singer, and if that's the case, than I can certainly help you to improve upon your singing. However, if you can't carry a tune at all, then I'm afraid you might want to pick a different instrument, I'm pretty sure that anyone who is that tone deaf, knows that they are, and wouldn't pursue singing to begin with. Perhaps there are some well trained vocal teachers out there who can pretty much perform miracles, and if so, please let me know about them! This I would have to see! I'm not meaning to sound abrasive here, I believe that everyone on this planet has a special gift of some sort, some are great at math, some are great at science or sports or art, you get the drift, we can't be good at everything (well, with the exception of a few people, a couple whom I know personally, who just seem to be amazing at everything they do, but they are freaks of nature, so we won't talk about them right now ;)
Anyway, long story short, I truly hope that this new endeavour of mine turns out to be a success, I have a feeling it will! I've already got loads of great feedback on Facebook about it, which is a good sign! So if you are reading this blog and are contemplating giving it a shot, please don't hesitate to contact me and we can talk about it. I'll even throw in an introductory lesson for free, so you can see if it's something you'd be comfortable with and would like to do. To contact me just go to the Online Lessons page here on my website, there is a contact form on there that you can fill out and I will get the message and reply to you as soon as possible with more details. Also, I have a Grainne's Online Lessons Face Book page and a Fan Site page for my music, so please feel free to connect with me there as well! Both of these links and more are all on the Lessons page (& on every page of this website), there are loads of ways to connect, which is pretty darn groovy (once again, gotta love the internet!! :)
Ok, I must bid you adieu for the time being, but thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog. I hope to see you elsewhere on the web and don't forget to come back and visit again! There's always something new happening that you won't want to miss & I'm going to do my darndest to keep on top of this blog thing, which by the way, is going to be a miss-mash of all sorts of stuff, journal entries, poems, thoughts on the world, visual arts & artists (and maybe even some of my own art), recipes, you name it! Basically, whatever I feel like writing about that day is what it will be! At least it won't be boring! :)
~ Toodle-loo for now!
